Tail between the legs [final post about pegvlog]

Let me be the first to say that I'm sorry for claiming that Pegvlog "Failed", as I've had so many projects of my own discontinue that I used the buzzword for a discontinued project for it, which I realize now was a misconception.

I did want to at least bring it up because even though I joined I never really knew what the project was supposed to be about or for, hence why my vlogs ended up being the crazy messes they were.

Knowing that they were for transitioning from the high school world, it makes sense why I was so lost, since I was not part of the high school group.* (*I know you'll argue that I was there honorarily which I very much appreciate, but I was never part of the jokes or the good times or the grad. I lived in my bubble of solitude back then. And if you're going to argue that that bubble was my own fault, there were many factors in my situation that you are unaware of, and as such, will only pose as foolish for doing so.) As well, my high school experience I had already transitioned from very fast and easily as moving itself ended up being my transition from my previous world.

I do not regret FNWER. But I will say that I probably shouldn't have joined if Pegvlog was meant just for transitioning. I saw it as intended for something else and I may have been the reason for many of its issues because of that. I am very sorry, but appreciate that I was allowed to join.

  1. You were specifically asked to join PegVlog. It wasn't something that you weren't invited to be a part of but ended up involved anyway. We wanted your insight and your videos to be part of PegVlog.
I personally thought it would be interesting to document everyone's University experience. We have several people leaving Winnipeg to go to new cities, a bunch of people staying in Winnipeg, and then you were unique because you were coming to Winnipeg.
You belonged in PegVlog just as much as anyone else. Perhaps even more so, since while your videos were *ahem* different, they were consistent and entertaining.

The primary point of PegVlog at least in my opinion was to:
    1. Stay in contact with each other after High School
    2. Work on a collaborative project to keep a group of friends together while they were apart, and I believe this was the more important of the two. It was an actual link between friends, rather than just a brief update of day-to-day activities.

I'll probably post a PegVlog blog post in the next couple of days because this has gotten me to think about it a lot.

    1. Unless someone proves me otherwise, I think this is the first time on PTE that Hometown's location has been outright mentioned, haha.

I appreciate your insight, never noticed that I was the odd duckling in that regard from the start, makes my oddity more fitting lol. I think everyone had different opinions of the vlogs purpose and I'm now curious how different each persons is. I feel like mine would be the most uncommon, since I didn't even have the stay in contact after high school goal. (Figured that was covered by FB and me moving back)

The fact this has inspired a post means the most to me. Success! :P

  2. Also, I really like the new background. The checkered background made it difficult to read.

  3. Yeah I think that in my last post, I made it sound like transitioning was the *only* purpose, but Ashley is right, it was also for keeping in touch/creating something with friends and documenting our experiences, and also just a fun project. As such, you were totally a valuable part of it :)

    1. It's really hard to pinpoint the purpose because it was a project with many ideas and goals, but I think the three you mentioned were definitely all purposes. Appreciate you think so :) I say same to you but I know thats no surprise XP

  4. Another thing I just thought of, although I said it was transition tool, I don't think any of us actually thought of it at the time. For me, anyway, it was like, oh man gotta keep the group together since we're all moving away! But then we sort of realized that we didn't NEED pegvlog in order to stay friends. so yeah.

    1. Yeah I had never been aware of any transition, so if anyone saw it as such it wasn't really a commonly talked of thing. I can understand that, since you were changing worlds. Very true, there was facebook! And twitter! And PTE!

Ok i lied about the last one but yknow

  7. I’d like to thank everyone for inviting me to such a non-judgmental, laid back & open group of people. The amount of love and support I received from all of you when Riccy featured me in a FNWER episode always made me want to come back. I am extremely glad that some parents found my way of speaking and sentence structure inspirational. On October 22, 2011 we received the “Script writers of the year” award from the Toronto Film school but we declined because we didn't want to be recognized by a school with a success rate lower then 10%. None the less, each one of you is always welcome to paint figurines and chat over a slice of cake anytime you want.
    My ass remains kiss-able.

P.S. Sorry for the delete, had a spelling mistake ;)
