Yesterday was a busy day. The part I want to mention is how I had a blood test.
First of all, I hate blood tests. I'm hemophobic, as in when I see blood or imagine what's happening I black out.
Now I mention this partly because in my journey to combat the hemophobia, I was able to have blood taken from me and not black out. This is a first.
This test also had the most vials taken of all tests I've had so far.
The more important part is also how I had this test despite being completely healthy.
Now you're maybe confused as to why.
For nearly 18 years I've been underweight. After seeing a few doctors, one believes it could be a thyroid issue. With relatives having thyroid problems, I was prescribed a blood test. The doctor that last saw me believes it is merely an overactive metabolism (which has been the main consensus on whats the cause), however with the test if there is anything more it will be found.
Theoretically.
I will post a later post if something is a thing, but at least I mentioned this now.
No more blood related posts from me though, one annually is the limit.

Back in November my mom dragged me to the doctor when I was quite sick.
ReplyDeleteI was determined to stay in bed and was pretty positive going down to the doctor was going to end with her explaining that I just had a cold and needed to stay in bed until I was better.
What I did not expect was the doctor thinking I had mono and requiring me to have a blood test.
I do not have a phobia, but I really dislike needles, especially blood tests, and I usually end up crying.
Needless to say, I was unimpressed with my mom for putting me in the circumstances that led to this needle.
Stupid needles.
I can relate, my first blood test was for mono too. Sorry they ruin your day too, definitely hear ya.
Deletei had a filling and they dident need to use a needle just pain meds so i wouldent feel pain
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when they can do that. I cant do suppositories so I always need the needle. Luckily I have low tolerance so I freeze super easy.
DeleteI got blood test a while ago hoping I'd have a deficiency causing my muscle tension. It came back normal. Rats.
ReplyDeleteI remember you telling me about that, sorry to hear there wasn't any causation found.
DeleteOn the plus side, yay being healthy?
